Following up on Sam’s excellent post I thought I’d share some of the props I use in my game.  I’ve spent a lot of years designing and building terrain for wargames.  That’s where I developed much of technique and learned a lot about modeling.  Enjoy!

All of these pieces are either downloaded cardstock or converted wargame features.  They were all easy to build and very reusable.  Next week I’ll share some pics of custom props and some of my props in action.  I’ll also show you an inexpensive new product to help your 3D gaming.

  1. I like those props because you could use them on a wide variety of maps. It also gives me some ideas for a modern campaign setting. That is one of the things that I am pondering in my head a little. Most of the props you see are for fantasy or futuristic settings. The least supported setting is modern. I think you could make things like a house, small restaurant, or convenience store that are fairly generic. But if you start creating an office building, or multi-level high-rise it starts to get real complicated.
