About John LewisMy name is John Lewis and I’ve been roleplaying for quite awhile, since the early 80’s anyway and virtually all of that time has been as a game master. This is my first shot at blogging but I’m really looking forward to sharing some thoughts and ideas about the hobby. In the coming months I will be blogging about game mechanical design and theory, campaign construction, adventure creation, roleplaying tips and techniques, and of course the occasional rant about the things that drive me nuts about gaming and gamers. Myself included!

DM:      “From your vantage point you see two trolls cooking something over a fire pit.  Both wear what looks like leather armor and carry large two-handed weapons.  Two cave entrances behind them are dark but you can hear occasional noise coming from inside.  What are you guys doing?” ...

Today is the first day in the past few months that I have been able to sit down at my computer and resume writing for RoleplayingPro.  Without going into details numerous family health issues have not only kept me from contributing articles but have also kept me from the game table.  Fortunately m...
